President Trump’s Call for Ethnic Cleansing in Gaza Endangers Ceasefire, Exposes His Reckless Agenda

February 10, 2025- We remain horrified and appalled by President Trump’s continued push for the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza—an unmistakable call for ethnic cleansing. Over the past week, rather than backtracking on his dangerous rhetoric, Trump has doubled down. He has made it clear that under his plan to “take over” Gaza, there would be no right of return for Palestinians. His reckless insistence on this course of action is now directly jeopardizing the fragile ceasefire and return of the hostages.

Reports confirm that Hamas has delayed the next round of hostage releases, citing an inability to trust the United States’ guarantees for the ceasefire given Trump’s statements. Mediators have now postponed talks until the Trump administration provides clarity on its plans –an alarming indication of how destabilizing his rhetoric has become.

Trump’s claim that this forced displacement could occur without US military involvement is both deceptive and absurd. The mass expulsion of a population of this scale would inevitably require force, making his denials not only unrealistic but also deeply irresponsible. 

The forced displacement of civilians is a war crime. Any attempt to carry out such an atrocity would not only worsen the humanitarian crisis but also further destabilize an already devastated region.
