Communications and Development Intern- Summer 2025
The time commitment for the internship is 10 hours per week. The internship will take place from May 15th through August 30th. This is a paid position at the rate of $15/hour and is mostly remote, though DC candidates are preferred as we are moving back to in-office work and will be organizing some in-person events through the summer.*

Responsibilities:
Communications
Assist with educational webinars and PeaceCast, NJN’s podcast
Conduct research and write op-eds or blog posts for our website
Assist with generating social media content, helping build campaigns, and post-merger branding efforts
Database Management
Assist in maintaining online database records. Prior CRM or mass communications experience is not a requirement, though any prior database experience is a bonus.
Help track our media output as well as public responses to it
Donor Relations
Ensure all donors receive timely acknowledgments of their gifts
Help write thank-you notes to donors
Learn about different kinds of donations about development work
Assist with event planning and program development

We also encourage interns to bring their own passions to the table and are happy to work with interns to develop projects that excite them—this internship offers independent learning and research opportunities as well as professional skill development.
Qualifications:
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Interest in Israeli-Palestinian peace
Demonstrated organizational abilities and time-management skills
Ability to quickly grasp new technical skills
Current student or recent graduate (DC-area college juniors and seniors preferred).

Director of Programs
Approach
You are an experienced (5-7 years) organizer, communicator, and program coordinator. You know how to plan, schedule, and coordinate a program from start to finish– from planning protests to educational events with our community partners to executing small-scale and large-scale projects. You work well with a team and can operate independently. You are comfortable with the fast-paced, ever-shifting landscape of the Israel-Palestine peacebuilding space, and comfortable operating within Jewish communal and progressive spaces.
Position
The person in this role is responsible for overseeing the successful planning and execution of programs and associated projects to broaden NJN’s outreach and engagement, deepen our organizing, and strengthen our community voice.
This position is located in Washington, D.C. or New York City and may require some travel.
Qualifications
Experience engaging and/or working within or with American Jewish communal organizations
Familiarity with and understanding of the topic of US-Israel/Palestine policy and the US/Israel relationship
Proven track record as a successful program director, program manager, or project manager
Ability to thrive working both independently and as part of a team
Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills
Duties & Responsibilities
Working under the supervision of the President and CEO, and in close coordination with the entire NJN team, the Director of Programs will have responsibility for the following:
Build and strengthen relationships with community members and partner organizations
Develop and implement new programs
Liaison with Habonim Dror (students and alumni)
Represent NJN in community coalitions and joint efforts
Empower activists around the country to work with and through NJN
Other duties as required

Compensation
Salary range: $65,000 – $80,000 — commensurate with experience
